In Goriška Brda we discovered Gredič, which meets our criteria that define a mindful journey. At first glance, Gredič stands out with its appearance that resembles a fortress (hence the name) and promises an unforgettable experience. The building itself is 400 years old and it was completely renovated and transformed into a boutique hotel in 2012, with the renovation perfectly preserving its castle identity.

One of the key factors on our evaluation scale is a well-designed interior, as we believe that the interior contributes significantly to how one will feel and what one will experience on vacation. Gredič offers total relaxation and ultimate comfort, provided by the spacious rooms and just the right furniture in the style of a modern castle.
Empty at first sight, it still manages to leave a very harmonious first impression. The furniture is comfortable, modern, solid, and with the appropriate details to be able to sense a special experience of the space, with a genuine castle atmosphere very present.

Gredič offers 7 rooms, one of which is an exclusive Master Suite with its own entrance and unforgettable views of the surrounding vineyards that surround the hotel. The location of the Gredič castle can be described as intimate, as the surrounding villages are planted on the tops of the surrounding hills, and Gredič stands alone on a small hill at the foot of the vineyards.
During the summer it is surrounded by fragrant lavender; the warm sun pleasantly warms the surroundings, and the interior of the castle hotel provides a naturally cool temperature, due to the thick stone walls.

My love for details has yielded great results. The plates are a work of art and an explosion of flavors, enhanced by wines made in the castle and a selection of local wines.

Gredič has its own vinothèque and is one of the most beautiful wine cellars in the region. The staff was surprised not only by the display of gastronomic spectacles but also by carefully thought-out details that continue the visual impression of the architecture along with the entire building. Gredič is definitely a unique experience that relaxes the body, soothes the mind, nourishes the soul, and pampers the taste buds.
