Your best slowdown

experience begins here...

"A place where a new culture of slowing down is created through culinary events, and hospitality influenced by the art of slow living by the lake."

The Hotel Haus am See is located directly on the lakeside. HAS, as they call it, invites you to drop by and relax in tastefully decorated rooms with a stunning view to enjoy the peaceful town of Nonnenhorn and explore the region around Lake Constance—especially their own private shore. The Lake House is their favorite place to be, and their hospitality is built around the happiness of sharing their home with you.

Slowdown value: Calm down by the lake and by design

A devotion to hearty hospitality, the lake, and the region has been passed down from generation to generation. You won't find any aloofness here, but rather sincerity, warmth, and approachability - and the heartfelt service that shows the special attention they like to extend to everyone who visits here.

Slowdown value: Balance between tradition and novelty - new generation hospitality

The Lake House is the home of the Knoerle family, and they love to share it. Here, for three whole generations, they have been offering the guests a time of relaxation and respite. Now the youngest in the Knoerle family line has taken over: As head chef and hotel director, Valentin Knoerle now runs the house with finesse and a good feel for the right balance between tradition and novelty.

SLOW and cozy

Minimal, but with unique characteristics.  Only 26 rooms, each unique in style, but with the same feel of a relaxing and comfortable retreat from the everyday.

Slowdown value: Fresh energy

With a new generation of hosts, the house got a fresh perspective. They kept the charm and the authentic character of the house but added a glimpse of modernity with natural shapes and soft tones. They combined the knowledge of both generations and created a new harmony of the space, and the pleasant calmness of the rooms speaks for themselves.

Living spaces today are a harmony of carefully arranged furniture, selected bright colors, and natural elements, which create a serene environment and enhance your mood and productivity.

"With the new touch of freshness and modernity, they transformed their rooms into a sanctuary of positive energy. Simple yet powerful arrangement elevates the room atmosphere and overall energy. Here at the Lake House, the guests sleep happily – and wake up even happier.”

SLOW FOOD CULTURE

They started a new chapter of culinary retreats, where every dish becomes a journey, every table a meeting place, and every event a chance to reinvent how we connect through food. A culture crafted slowly, intentionally, and with heart—one plate, one experience, one season at a time.

Slowdown value: Food that connects generations, guests, and makes new friends

A new culinary culture is taking shape—born from passion, curiosity, and an unwavering respect for the land. The soul behind the food is Chef Valentin, who took over the restaurant from his dad. Lovingly prepared by hand and with a devotion to real taste experience, the meals that are served at HAS testify to top quality and respect for what nature provides.

Each meal is a retreat that becomes a gathering of flavors and stories, where carefully selected local ingredients guide the experience and nature sets the rhythm. They cook not just to serve, but to celebrate: the people who grow the food, the traditions that inspire them, and the shared moments that turn a meal into a memory.

Slowdown value: The breakfast experience is a mindful journey through local tastes and homemade creations

When morning arrives at Hotel Haus am See, it brings with it a sense of unrushed serenity. The world outside is calm, and inside, a thoughtfully prepared breakfast awaits—an abundant collection of regional flavors, homemade delicacies, and artisanal treats reflecting the authenticity of Nonnenhorn.

As you sit with a warm cup in hand, watching light shimmer across the lake, every detail feels like an invitation to enjoy the present moment. Breakfast becomes a peaceful ritual, a celebration of local craftsmanship, and a gentle reminder that mornings are meant to be savored slowly.

The Art of Slowdown

With the mission to offer the guests a perfect combination of nature experience, relaxation, and culinary delights, they created special events that enhance your holidays and promise an escape and reset for your mind and soul in a new way. It's about new experiences that connect us in a pristine way and through which we learn to feel that we again have time for ourselves and our happiness.

Slowdown value: Cultivate new rituals, to ditch routines

Just get away from everyday life for a moment. Sleep in, have a long breakfast, go to yoga, read a good book, lose track of time in the SPA. Explore the cycle paths in the hinterland, take the train to the island of Lindau, or visit the museum in Bregenz. Maybe just leave your usual work environment and combine work with a place to relax.

"A break at HAS is your golden ticket to break free from the everyday routine and to unleash your adventurous spirit! It's an ultimate opportunity to escape the mundane and dive into exciting new experiences. Whether you’re soaking up the sun on a lakeside beach or rolling down the yoga mat on the lakeshore and enjoying the serenity of the lakeside, a getaway can spark fresh inspiration and energize your mind. So pack your bags and get ready to make unforgettable memories!"
SLOWDOWN HOTELS

Slowdown value:

Let the lake teach you how to relax

Their private shore is a lovely place to be. Take a break and enjoy at your own pace in their SPA area or on the private beach by the lake. Slowdown value: Make space for new ideas. Let go, and enjoy your creativity

The garden studio is also a working atelier hosting regular workshops with artists. A space to explore, learn something new, and connect in a creative atmosphere.

"What was once Grandpa Knörle’s old bike shed has become a space for new ideas: the garden studio. On quiet days, this special place opens its doors – a café, studio, and shop with lake views, full of inspiration and small discoveries."
