Take a mindful walk
Lago di Sorapis, Dolomites
Sometimes we are not really aware of how big an impact is, when taking a walk into nature. Our goal sometimes is to only see one of the natural wonders, but going for a walk brings so many benefits to our well-being.
When we walk, calming neurotransmitters known as endorphins are released. These relieve pain and increase feelings of positivity and relaxation. Studies show that a walk of even twenty minutes can have the same calming effect as a mild tranquilizer.
With going for a walk we "clear our head" or blow the cobwebs away. There is something restorative and fundamentally human in the act of walking. Putting one foot in front of the other, with the aim of getting from A to B is one of the simplest acts a person can do, and it's something the able-bodied take for granted Learning to walk is perhaps the most celebrated developmental milestone in the transition from babyhood to childhood, and the autonomy of it, standing on your own two feet, one of the most obvious markers of our free will.
So we encourage you to plan your walking trips not only to pin the destination on your map, but mostly because it will benefit your body and mind.
